A day of gluttony...

We couldn't have asked for better weather last week - Portland isn't known for long stretches of sunny, 80 degree days in mid-April!

Elliot got to hang out with his grandma Susie all week (look for a separate post of E-and-grandma pictures soon!), and afternoons brought lots of outdoor time, including this trip to Laurelhurst Park with Ava and the Rabolds.

So much to look at in the park...

...but a nap sounds kind of nice.

You might be wondering why Elliot would be so sleepy on a bright sunny afternoon? ...

This might explain it: Elliot hosted a joint 1st birthday party for all of the "Moms Group" kids earlier in the day.

There was a lot of food.

And there was beer...

...but most importantly, there was cake.

Oh yes, there was cake.

Of course you can't just dive into cake unprepared; it can be pretty overwhelming.

It can reduce a person to tears.

But Elliot was clearly ready.

You'd almost think he'd been secretly training for this day.

You had to respect the simplicity of his technique.

In the end, we had to lift him out of the carnage.

This pretty much sums up the experience. Content, euphoric exhaustion.

Scene of the crime.

Move along, there's nothing to see here.
