All in the Family

We tried our best to prepare ourselves and Elliot for our larger family, but in the end we still weren't absolutely certain how he would respond to the call of sibling-hood.

Elliot first met his little sister in the hospital.

I know it looks from this photo like Elliot's poking Maisie as if she were a science experiment, but he was actually quite gentle with her. He had remembered all the books we had been reading together, because he seemed pretty excited about the "beebee." He was even more excited about the toy tractor that came with this initial visit.

An effortless first family portrait, thanks to the hospital peach wedges that kept Elliot occupied.

Heading home from the hospital, we realize just how little available real estate remains in our car.

Taking advantage of Elliot's willingness to deliver kisses on demand.

Bro and sis settling in nicely together.

Here we are, another wonderful family portrait, everyone with a nice smile (you don't know how tough that is). Maisie gets a pass because she's burrowed in that pouch on my chest. and she only smiles when she has gas.

We can't forget about Cleo. She quickly resigned herself to the fact that she was about to receive even less attention than she's been subsiding on for the last two years, and then set about watching over Maisie as much as possible.

That's right Cleo, watch the baby; channel that depression into something positive for the family.

Cleo takes her work very seriously.

Come live with us, Cleo! 4 bored, childless/dogless adults! We will spoil you and your sweet empty melon head silly!
