Reprint: Our Original Elliot E-Nouncement

While we get ourselves in order, here's the original email that we sent out on Saturday, May 3rd.

Hello friends and family, we FINALLY have big news! On Wednesday, April 30 at 9:17pm, Elliot Richard Allan Weir entered the world and our family. As many of you know, Elliot was almost two weeks post-term, so after being mildly induced, Sharon FLEW through labor (9 hrs from induction to delivery), with Stuart coaching and supporting along the way. Sharon is recovering from the quick, though intense, delivery.

Elliot came to us at 5lb, 14 oz, and 20 inches long. He's a skinny little guy, so our focus has been on chubbing him up. He is rising to meet each challenge, and is now gaining weight at a regular pace. It's a lot of work, but we're amazed at how much he has changed in only three days. We're all learning a lot and are constantly adapting our strategies and routines as we go.

Thank you all for your support and advice over these past nine-plus months. We especially appreciate your putting up with our pregnancy-talk during this time, and we promise we'll try to keep our "Wow, yesterday Elliot's diaper was..." stories to a minimum. We can't wait to introduce you to him! We won't bore you with talk of how darn cute he is, so just see for yourself. Enjoy!
