Wuh? Where am I? What's Going On?!

Picking up where the last post left off, in our first indescribable first moments with this very new tiny human...

Grandma Susie wasn't expecting to get the call to come back to the hospital so soon!

That's right, Elliot was born a tiny 5lb 14oz. He's much bigger now (May 17) but more on that later.

My mind was completely blown at this point.

Elliot's first bath.

First night of sleep.

So far so good.

I lost track of how often we exclaimed "I can't believe he's only 12 hours old!"

Because of Elliot's low birthweight, our first few days revolved tightly around feeding him so that he wouldn't lose more than the standard 7 to 10 % body weight (he was light on reserves). This was the only time my finger was used as a delivery device.

Mom!

Grandma!

Da-- oh, wait...

Dad!

On May 2nd we begin to ponder what clothes might fit our child, who has dropped down to 5lb 7oz.

They even let us take him home!
